Looks like Eurogamer got an exclusive regarding class development in SWTOR. Apparently each of the eight classes breaks down into two classes. Each class will then have three talent trees, two specifically for the advanced class and one that is shared by the basic class; kind of like Age of Conan. According to Eurogamer the Sith splits up into a crazy dps class and a tank class.

Other than that the advanced classes exist, there isn’t much else to talk about. It’s a typical MMOG staple so you can’t say that you’re surprised. I’m still waiting on information on how the game works. It still looks like a very large co-op multiplayer online game. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned.

Happy Saturday from a disgustingly humid New Jersey. As I sit here contemplating the week in MMOGs, there is one thing that I wanted to address; and that was Eurogamer’s review of Darkfall. If you recall they scored Darkfall a 2 out of a possible 10 and Tasos wasn’t exactly happy with that. Now I’m not here to further comment on that whole circus, but I wanted to discuss how I would attempt to review a game and whether or not my method is valid.

Eurogamer got their hands on with Jumpgate Evolution recently and Jim Rossignol gives us his impressions of the game. Here are Jim’s initial impressions:
“Vibrant colours aren’t usually the first things that spring to mind when you visualise a space combat game. Our science-fiction heritage has left us with an image of space that is grim and murky, and full of people screaming but not being heard. Jumpgate isn’t like that. Visually, Jumpgate is almost the interstellar equivalent of World Of Warcraft’s cartoon fantasy.”
To read the rest of the hands on review you can find it here. Just in case you missed them, here were Rerollz’ first impressions from New York Comic Con in February.

Updated for responses.
Yesterday Eurogamer released their review of online game Darkfall. Darkfall is a recently released sandbox MMOG, where players are pitted against in each other in a world where clans battle for territory control. The review in question rated Darkfall with a 2/10. This score is one of the worst given to any game they’ve reviewed in the passed. Tasos, the lead designer of Darkfall Online immediately replied with his own comments.
