Last week, Rerollz had the fortunate opportunity to ask famed author, R.A. Salvatore a few questions about his experiences and thoughts on the MMORPG genre. In case you didn’t know, R.A. Salvatore is the author of the Drizzt series of books (among many others) and is now currently working creatively with Curt Schilling and Todd McFarlane at 38 Studios on an MMOG project code named Copernicus.
Remember, R.A. Salvatore’s answers do not reflect the ideas or design directions of 38 Studios, but they reflect his own thoughts and experiences while playing these games for the last decade or so.
So if you want to know about his thoughts on Warcraft’s WOTLK, the revenge of Wizard Salvatore and his thoughts on story telling then read the whole interview after the break. Follow the link below.

Rerollz got a chance to ask a few questions of Wes Yanagi, Senior Producer of DC Universe Online. We got a chance to check the game out in person back at NY Comic Con and now we got a chance to learn a little more about the game. One point of interest is how they plan on meshing new gear that you get with your existing costume so it matches.
Rerollz: More of a general question for you; what audience are you shooting for with DC Universe Online? Are you trying to focus on attracting PVE focused players or the PVP players? Or Both?
Wes Yanagi: DCUO is an action game moment-to-moment with the month-to-month progression you’d expect from an MMO. We believe comic book fans, MMO players and console action gamers will all find something to like about this game. We’re committed providing a fun and exciting experience for both PvP and PvE players.

Recently Rock, Paper, Shotgun did an interview with Ragnar Tornquist. It’s a great read. He discusses what he’s learned from his past and comes of extremely honest about what he’s doing moving forward. He also discusses what to expect from the world and story and how they mesh together. One interesting fact we learn is that we should expect the story to come in installments. Ragnar says. “You’ll complete the story and say “Oh crap I want to know what happens next!” But then you’ll have to wait for the next season, and spend some time roaming around, discovering the other parts of the story.”

Rerollz recently received the opportunity to ask some questions of Bill Roper the Design Director and Executive Producer of Champions Online. Champions Online is an upcoming MMOG from Crypic Studios. We wanted to see how Roper views ChampO in the marketplace with other super hero games and some general design theories.
Read on to see what we found out.
