As this MMOG genre ages, you get more and more companies putting out different games. If you are an avid MMO gamer then chances are you have been burned once or twice on a new MMOG purchase. There is no need to point fingers (Fuck you Aion and Warhammer) and there isn’t any need for told you so’s either. It’s happened to all of us. However there is a new one out there called Global Agenda.
I had received a Beta invite for this game over the Holidays but due to my hectic schedule I didn’t get a chance to test the game. Shame on me I suppose. If you really want our view, you should try to ask Teljair about writing a review. Unfortunately for you, his writing skills are equivalent with a baboons. So don’t hold your breath.
In any event, this game has been released recently and I’m reading a bit more into it. From what I gathered it’s like TF2 and Tabula Rasa had a baby and it didn’t have down-syndrome. Now I can’t tell if it’s an ugly baby or a cute baby and I wish I could get a trial just to see for myself. The price point on this game is a bit high to take a chance on right now being $49.99. If this game was twenty to thirty bucks, maybe, but right now I don’t want to drop fifty beans on a game that I may or may not like.
The complaints about this game is that it isn’t a true MMOG; no persistent world and in between matches you are sitting in a Dome (the graphical 3D chat room). The good things, and this is what gets me curious, is that the combat is solid and the gameplay is actually fun. I have TF2 and COD, do I need another shooter?
I think this game is hurting because there is a lack of a free trial because this game comes with a $50 price tag and to access the larger scope of this game, a subscription fee.
Do I try this game? Do I get burned?
I don’t know. Anyone have any advice?

I’ve got a cycle with Warcraft. I resubscribe for a while, get a bunch of things accomplished, like hit max level in a new expansion, or gear up to a point where it slows down; then I usually cancel my subscription. At what point does the average person cancel their subscription with Warcraft? Is it when you can’t progress any further? Is it when you almost have everything you want? Where is the breaking point?

If anyone actually read my Gametime Decisions post last week I have an update for you.
I tried playing STO but the fucking servers were down every time I tried to log on due to maintenance. Fuck you Cryptic for not letting me play your free open beta.
So I went back to Warcraft. What did I do? I resurrected my level 80 DK so I wouldn’t have to play level up anymore on my warrior. Scrounged up 80 or so badges and had a good time. What have I learned though? Don’t waste your fucking time on alts. Here’s to wasting time on a level 44 rogue and a level 74 warrior.
Someone tell me I’m an asshole. Please.

There isn’t much news out there to talk about unless you want to talk about some random lawyer spilling the beans about a Elder Scrolls MMOG in the works. So instead of spewing news and updates about MMOGs I’ll ramble on a little bit more about my gaming habits. Hows that?
Right now as you know, I tried out Darkfall earlier this week. This was after I had gotten bored with playing WOW for the last few weeks. Then last night instead of playing Darkfall I loaded up Allods Online for it’s 4th closed beta session. I also have Star Trek Online’s beta that I’m playing as well; albeit not much.
So what’s a gamer with a new fiance gonna do? I don’t have the attention span to play more than one MMOG at a time, let alone four. I’m going to weigh the pros and cons of the four games that I’m tinkering with.
Well it’s been a while since I last made a post and I have to apologize. I got engaged to my wonderful girlfriend this weekend and my writing took a little backseat. That and there hasn’t been anything to write about.
If you guys want to motivate me, shoot me a tweet or a comment. It’ll wake me up.
Anyway, for those not paying attention Allods Online opens up their fourth open beta today. They’re opening up the rest of the levels and some of the PVP stuff. I think this game could be something, the art work is good as we mentioned before, and the game engine is solid. It’s also free.
I found this talent calculator and I thought it was pretty cool. Gives you an idea of the customization you can have. It’s kinda like a Final Fantasy grid thing.
Onto what I really want to talk about this morning; Darkfall Online. Curiosity killed my wallet and I finally put down the cash to buy this game yesterday.

If you really think about it, there isn’t much gameplay information out there about Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic. What do we know already? Well, we know the classes; though you could of probably guessed them before they were announces. We know that every fucking person in the game speaks to you via a voice actor, that hasn’t been shoved down our throat already (By the way, if I can’t skip shitty dialogue with the ESC key I might just toss this game out the window.), and we know that all the classes will have their own unique story. That’s it.
