If anyone actually read my Gametime Decisions post last week I have an update for you.
I tried playing STO but the fucking servers were down every time I tried to log on due to maintenance. Fuck you Cryptic for not letting me play your free open beta.
So I went back to Warcraft. What did I do? I resurrected my level 80 DK so I wouldn’t have to play level up anymore on my warrior. Scrounged up 80 or so badges and had a good time. What have I learned though? Don’t waste your fucking time on alts. Here’s to wasting time on a level 44 rogue and a level 74 warrior.
Someone tell me I’m an asshole. Please.

Good morning everyone. It’s a shitty Monday morning and I feel like crap. At least the thought of Brett Favre sucking it up again warms my heart.
I came across an interesting twitter from the folks at Arena Net, makers of Guild Wars 2, pointing out a interesting forum post here. Audio Director James Ackley put together some cool pictures and info from behind the scenes on how they go about getting sound effects from their game.
Drew and I agreed that we wanted Guild Wars 2 to be as full of sounds as possible, never leaving you wondering where the “world” went. Just because you aren’t in the middle of a huge battle doesn’t mean the world around you has gone away, from a sound perspective. On the other hand, we definitely didn’t want to create a world so full of sounds that once you do end up in a town or battle, the cacophony just makes you want to turn the sounds off. So we’re working on a very complex mixing system that we hope will not only solve this problem, but will help you focus on the important sounds and make you a better player.
Pretty cool. Here’s my favorite, Animal Sounds:

If you’re thirsty for FFXIV info, no matter how corny, check out this translated Q&A over on ZAM.
Q:Will Chocobos make an appearance?
A:Of course! However, we are still exploring ways for us to use them in a unique way compared with FFXI.
Yay.

There isn’t much news out there to talk about unless you want to talk about some random lawyer spilling the beans about a Elder Scrolls MMOG in the works. So instead of spewing news and updates about MMOGs I’ll ramble on a little bit more about my gaming habits. Hows that?
Right now as you know, I tried out Darkfall earlier this week. This was after I had gotten bored with playing WOW for the last few weeks. Then last night instead of playing Darkfall I loaded up Allods Online for it’s 4th closed beta session. I also have Star Trek Online’s beta that I’m playing as well; albeit not much.
So what’s a gamer with a new fiance gonna do? I don’t have the attention span to play more than one MMOG at a time, let alone four. I’m going to weigh the pros and cons of the four games that I’m tinkering with.
Just a heads up. I just got an offer for a Fallen Earth free trial. Apparently they are offering some new stuff in game:
You asked for more social hubs? Improved graphics? Well, we’ve delivered! Join us for 10 days of free playtime to see our recent improvements!

LOTRO is also offering to let me play for free this weekend.

Well it’s been a while since I last made a post and I have to apologize. I got engaged to my wonderful girlfriend this weekend and my writing took a little backseat. That and there hasn’t been anything to write about.
If you guys want to motivate me, shoot me a tweet or a comment. It’ll wake me up.
Anyway, for those not paying attention Allods Online opens up their fourth open beta today. They’re opening up the rest of the levels and some of the PVP stuff. I think this game could be something, the art work is good as we mentioned before, and the game engine is solid. It’s also free.
I found this talent calculator and I thought it was pretty cool. Gives you an idea of the customization you can have. It’s kinda like a Final Fantasy grid thing.
Onto what I really want to talk about this morning; Darkfall Online. Curiosity killed my wallet and I finally put down the cash to buy this game yesterday.
